Monte Lee Thornton PADI Master Instructor, Underwater Photographer and Website Designer
Over the past 30 years of scuba diving, Monte Thornton has published photos in
textbooks, magazines, newspapers and internet publications. His photography expertise
spans from Hawaii to Middle East archaeological compositions. He founded
Explore Underwater Online Magazine in 1996 and has continued to have a very large internet
presence.
Monte Thornton is a marine naturalist who started out photographing Humpback whales and feeding sharks.
He now lives in the Cayman Islands with his wife, Irene a Master Scuba Diver Trainer, and their two children.
Irene began diving in 1978 in the Cayman Islands, and they met each other diving. Their 13 year old daughter
and 10 year old son, are PADI Jr.Open Water Divers.
Monte and Irene teach individuals, small groups, and families, twenty-six different PADI scuba courses. Discover
Snorkeling, Discover Scuba Diving, the Open Water Diver course, and many others can be
